Here is my interview with my dad about his job.
1. What is your job?
"I work as a Software Engineer for Verizon Information Technology Services."
2. How many years of schooling do you need to become a Software Engineer?
"You need at least the normal high school diploma and four years of bachelors degree in a college to work for verizon, but to reach higher positions you must have more qualifications."
3. What do you typically major in to be a software engineer?
"You should major in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunication."
4. Why did you choose this job?
"I chose it because I like to work with software and the job payed very well and was good for me."
5. How many hours a week do you work?
"Verizon requires me to work at least forty hours every week."
6. What skills do you require for this job?
"You must have skill and experience in using computers- typing, sequel servers, database clients, Microsoft Excel, Word, web applications, and ETL tools."
7. What do you enjoy about this job?
"I enjoy testing software and applications for a company like Verizon."
8. What are some difficulties in this job?
"There can be many difficulties in using computers and the software- is something goes wrong, it can take a while to fix it with the team."
9. What are some pros of this job?
"Some pros would be that I get to work with nice people in a very nice facility for a big company, and verizon provides many benefits such as overtime, insurance, etc.
10. What are some cons?
"Some cons would be that I have to devote much of my time to my job, even when at home, as colleagues sometimes require help to work."
